One of the major ski areas of North America is just a few miles from the June Lake Loop.

The Mammoth Main Lodge is only 18 miles south of June Lake, via US Highway 395 and the Mammoth Scenic Loop Road (Check road conditions, it may be advisable to use the longer road via Route 209 through the Town of Mammoth Lakes if the Scenic Road is icy).
